Analysis of protein lysine acetylation in human NSCLC A549 cells showed that inhibitor of growth 5 (ING5) protein, a candidate tumor suppressor, promotes autoacetylation of p300 HAT at several lysine residues and the activation of p300 leads to acetylation of its target proteins, including H3 at position K18 [61]. This evidence concerns the gene EP300 and non-small cell lung carcinoma.
