STAT3 and neoplasm: Recent studies showed evidence that niclosamide indeed has multiple anti-neoplastic properties, eliciting effects in many major proto-oncogenic and tumor-suppressing cellular pathways, affecting processes such as the signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 (STAT3), nuclear factor-kappa B (NF-κB), wingless-related integration site (Wnt)/β-catenin, mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR), and others [2,3,4].
