An experimental antibody–drug conjugate (ADC) called SGN-CD228A is targeted at the cell surface protein known as melanotransferrin (CD228, MELTF, MFI2, p97), which was initially discovered in melanoma, but recent IHC studies discovered that SGD-CD228A is also expressed in NSCLC and triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) as well. The gene discussed is MELTF; the disease is melanoma.
