Methods: Basic phenotypic features were assessed (including inducible nitric oxide synthase, arginase 1 and mannose receptors), proinflammatory cytokine (IL-1β, TNFα) release, and oxidative stress markers (reactive oxygen species, malondialdehyde) in macrophages obtained prior and after 3-month therapy with liraglutide in patients with obesity. This evidence concerns the gene IL1B and obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
