TRIM44 and cancer: Most TRIM proteins, such as TRIM44 and TRIM59, exhibit a cancer-promoting role, consistently upregulated across several cancer types [12,13,14,15,16,17,18,19,20,21,22,23,24,25,26], whereas TRIM proteins like TRIM16 suppress cell proliferation and metastasis in neuroblastoma, melanoma, ovarian cancer and breast cancer [27,28,29,30].
