Using a cockroach allergen-induced murine asthma model, Liang et al. demonstrated that the S100A11 protein exacerbates lung inflammation by increasing the production and secretion of Th2 chemokines CCL17 and CCL22 in lung macrophages, further inducing inflammatory pulmonary injury in allergic asthma [77].
