Several differences were observed when comparing these subgroups, including a higher proportion of Asians, and men; lower BMI; lower proportion of patients with a history of hypertension; lower CHADS2 and CHA2DS2‐VASc scores; higher proportion of patients on baseline OAC; and lower proportion of patients on baseline antiplatelets, β blockers, and angiotensin‐converting enzyme inhibitors in the Japanese versus non‐Japanese patients (Table 1).
