At the gene level three genes (SLC15A4, TXNIP and IGF2BP2) were previously reported to be associated with systolic and diastolic blood pressure [30, 31] (Supplementary data, Table S12A) and 39 of our 42 genes were reported to be associated with CKD by Chu et al. [32] and Hillary et al. [33] (Supplementary data, Table S12B). The gene discussed is TXNIP; the disease is chronic kidney disease.
