Considering the crucial role of hepatic stellate cells (HSCs) in the liver ECM process, we used α-SMA and Tim-1 monoclonal antibodies to identify HSCs in liver tissue and alpha-fetoprotein (AFP) and Tim-1 to identify liver cancer cells [19,20].Figure 3M‒P revealed a notable reduction in the number of α-SMA and Tim-1 double-positive cells in liver cancer tissues by approximately 1-fold, whereas the number of AFP and Tim-1 double-positive cells was reduced by approximately 40%. The gene discussed is ACTA1; the disease is liver cancer.
