Both clinical and experimental investigations have revealed that the genomic locus of CDKN2A is linked to susceptibility of childhood ALL in various ethnic populations.32, 33, 34 While genetic alterations at this locus are well-established contributors to tumorigenesis, there is also evidence suggesting that specific disease-associated polymorphisms may modulate the risk of developing ALL in children.33 Here, CDKN2A is linked to acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
