IL-9 was found to stimulate the growth of Interstitial cells of Cajal (ICC) and support its functions (Gong et al., 2014; Ye et al., 2006), potentially resulting in enhanced gallbladder motility and decreased cholestasis, which helps to reduce the occurrence of gallbladder polyps (Vila et al., 2018). This evidence concerns the gene IL9 and polyp of gallbladder.
