In 30 young adults with T1D and 20 healthy controls (HCs), we implemented rigorous metabolic and kidney phenotyping including measuring whole-body insulin sensitivity by hyperinsulinemic-euglycemic clamps, glomerular filtration rate (GFR) by iohexol clearance, renal plasma flow (RPF) by p-aminohippurate clearance, and kidney perfusion and oxygenation by multiparametric kidney MRI. This evidence concerns the gene INS and type 1 diabetes mellitus.
