GP1BA and hypertensive disorder: Unlike healthy young subjects’ platelets where the Ca2+ signal intensity first increases and then decreases as clamping force increases, mirroring their lifetime’s ‘catch-slip’ trend, the Ca2+ signal intensity of hypertension patients’ platelets manifested a gradual decline, also consistent with the shape of their GPIbα–VWFA1 lifetime slip bond (Fig. 5n).
