ACE and heart failure: Heart failure (HF) is a clinical condition that results from the structural remodeling and dysfunction of the heart due to various causes, and it is a major cause of death in cardiovascular disease.[1] Despite the availability of western medicine treatments such as diuretics, cardiotonics, vasodilators, and angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors,[2,3] the high incidence rate and mortality, multiple complications, recurrent disease, poor drug tolerance, and other factors associated with heart failure often compromise the efficacy of these treatments.[4,5]
