An early study involving overexpression of wild-type and mutant Rab6a did not reveal a requirement for Rab6a in HPV pseudovirus (PsV) infection (31), whereas our small interfering RNA (siRNA) screen revealed that infection was inhibited by knockdown of Rab6a and Rab6IP1, a Rab6a guanine nucleotide exchange factor (15). The gene discussed is RAB6A; the disease is infection.
