As indicated, the Mic60‐knockdown cells showed about 50% less load of intracellular bacteria than si‐Ctrl cells after 2 or 6 hours infection, and more interestingly, cells overexpressing Mic60 appeared to have a more significant decrease (about 50%) in bacterial load compared to those cells transfected with the empty vector (Figure 6a).
