Overexpression of miR-181c in human pancreatic cancer cells led to excessive activation of YAP/TAZ, along with increased expression of hippo signaling downstream genes CTGF, BIRC5, and BLC2L1, which improved the in vitro and in vivo survival and resistance of pancreatic cancer cells to chemotherapy (165). The gene discussed is YAP1; the disease is familial pancreatic carcinoma.
