A link between the DDR and EMT has been established, because cisplatin exposure of ovarian cancer cells results in USP1 phosphorylation by ATM and ATR, the two core kinases of the DDR; such a phosphorylation is required for binding to Snail, a process activating stemness feature that can ultimately induce cell reprogramming to favor survival. This evidence concerns the gene USP1 and ovarian carcinoma.
