Combined with the previous studies showing that REST binds to the RE1 motif within target genes and recruits Sin3A/B and coREST to repress gene expression 25, 36 and P300 interacts with RBBP4 to form complex that controls critical survival genes and respond for TMZ resistance in glioblastoma 37, it is more reasonable to assume that REST synergizes with P300 to co-regulate GBM progression by targeted activation of KIF15 transcription. This evidence concerns the gene RBBP4 and glioblastoma.
