Anti–N-methyl-D-aspartate receptor (NMDAR) encephalitis, anti–leucine-rich glioma-inactivated 1 (LGI1) encephalitis, and anti–γ-aminobutyric acid-B receptor (GABABR) encephalitis are the most prevalent forms, characterized by the presence of antibodies against neuronal cell-surface antigens. Here, LGI1 is linked to viral encephalitis.
