We discovered that integratingmacrolide azithromycin into the surface recognition group of subclassI HDAC isoform-selective HDACi resulted in macrolide-based HDACi (Figure S1b), which preferentially accumulatedin liver tissue and robustly suppressed HCC tumor growth in an orthotopicmodel.17 This evidence concerns the gene HDAC9 and hepatocellular carcinoma.
