Multivariable logistic regression analysis revealed that age (odds ratio [OR], 1.07; 95% confidence interval [CI], 1.01–1.13; P = 0.002), C-reactive protein (CRP) levels (OR, 1.11; 95% CI, 1.05–1.17; P = 0.013), T lymphocyte count (OR, 0.82; 95% CI, 0.69–0.93; P = 0.011), and interleukin-6 (IL-6) levels (OR, 1.17; 95% CI, 1.08–1.23; P = 0.003) were independently associated with the development of ARDS in critically ill patients. Here, CRP is linked to acute respiratory distress syndrome.
