These morphological changes suggest a shift towards a more stem cell-like state, or a more aggressive phenotype in the context of cancer, in cells harboring the EE HSP90 mutant (i.e., with a high epichaperome load), a feature not observed in cells carrying the AA HSP90 mutant (i.e., not permissive of epichaperome formation). This evidence concerns the gene HSP90AB1 and cancer.
