Moreover, when we analyzed the list of the TFs binding to the CRMs, obtained from the ReMap and CIS-BP data, we noticed that the majority of those TFs are differentially expressed in Mecp2 KO vs WT cerebral cortex (Table 1; DEGs identified in the RNA-Seq dataset track as in Fig. 2c3 for Pak3), suggesting that they are either direct or indirect MECP2 targets.
