The objective of this study was to retrospectively investigate the clinical significance of serum hypoxia-inducible factor 1-alpha (HIF-1α), plasma endothelin-1 (ET-1), and nitric oxide (NO) as non-invasive blood biomarkers for diagnosing patients with acute exacerbation of COPD (AECOPD). This evidence concerns the gene HIF1A and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
