There was no significant difference in the baseline pre-conception androgen levels and the androgen/SHBG or testosterone/AD ratios in those PCOS patients that could conceive without IVF treatment and the ones that required IVF, although DHEAS and androstenedione levels had a trend to be lower and SHBG levels higher, even if not significantly, in those who finally had an IVF conception. This evidence concerns the gene SULT2A1 and polycystic ovary syndrome.
