The Wnt family of genes has been implicated in the innate immune responses of aquatic animals [45]; Wang et al. [46] reported that the two Wnt homologues (Mn-Wnt4 and Mn-Wnt16) transcripts evidently increased after bacterial and viral infection, and the expression of the wnt6 gene was significantly enhanced in our study. Here, WNT16 is linked to viral infectious disease.
