The univariate logistic regression models found that a higher likelihood of diagnosis with MCI was associated with older age, fewer years of formal education, longer duration of diabetes, higher HbA1c, hs-CRP, TNF-α, and triglyceride levels and lower concentrations of adiponectin and HDL, as well as with the presence of CVD, hyperlipidemia, retinopathy, and nephropathy and a greater number of co-morbidities. This evidence concerns the gene TNF and hyperlipidemia.
