Furthermore, clustering suggests a link between SQSTM1 fusion and a medical history of thyroid/parathyroid adenoma, and features such as multifocality and sidedness on histology; links were also found between NCOA4 fusion and sex, histological features of two-sidedness, multifocality and microcarcinoma character, a medical history of goiter, and, interestingly, obstructive pulmonary disease.
