In rats with colitis, despite the rats receiving the symbiotic having higher rates of CB2, MOR and PPARα mRNA than the untreated animals (Figure 4B–D), only the CB1 mRNA levels increased significantly (78.6 ± 12.7 vs. 19.7 ± 4.5, +398%; p < 0.05) (Figure 4A). Here, CNR2 is linked to colitis.
