In our experiments, AAV-Syn-BDNF-eGFP Sip1wt/fl mice were used, which are characterized by cognitive and motor impairments prone to epilepsy, and BDNF overexpression not only did not worsen their condition but, on the contrary, completely suppressed the death of mice upon pilocarpine injections and contributed to the restoration of cognitive functions. This evidence concerns the gene BDNF and epilepsy.
