CRP and COVID-19: CRP, ferritin, and D-dimer were significantly higher (p ≤ 0.001) in patients with severe COVID-19 than in healthy individuals, as shown in Figure 2A. In contrast, lymphocyte percentage was considerably lower (p ≤ 0.001) in COVID-19 patients, as shown in Figure 2B. Of note, patients with severe COVID-19 indicated an increase in the granulocyte population compared with healthy individuals, but this statement requires further confirmation.
