ATP2A2 and chronic kidney disease: The proteomic data also revealed downregulation of proteins related to contractility post CKD, including sarcomeric proteins (MYL1, MYL2, MYL4, MYH7, and TNNI3), proteins linking the sarcomeres to the Z disks (MYOT, MYOZ2, NEBL, and PDLIM5) as well as proteins involved in calcium handling (RYR2, ATP2A2 (SERCA)), while PLN was upregulated. Downregulation of these proteins post CKD likely contributed to the LV dilation and impaired contractile force observed in vivo.
