A cerebral spinal fluid (CSF) proteo-genomic study investigating the leucine-rich repeat kinase 2 (LRRK2) protein implicated in the dementia severity seen among patients with Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease found that LRKK2 exon missense variants were significantly associated with greater corresponding ENTPD1 CSF levels (p < 0.05) [57]. The gene discussed is LRRK2; the disease is dementia.
