As trehalose has been shown to increase the lifespan in several animal models of neurological disorders (Honda et al, 2010; Li et al, 2015; Palmieri et al, 2017; Tanaka et al, 2004; Zhang et al, 2014), we tested whether it could also ameliorate the life expectancy of Mecp2 KO mice, which normally lasts about 4 months of age.
