To confirm that the drug indeed inhibits tumor growth via the suppression of CAF development, we performed immunofluorescence staining of gastric subcutaneous tumors for signature markers, including CD34 and PI16 for the progenitor state, and ACTA2 (also known as α-SMA) and COL1A1 for the classic tumor-prone state. The gene discussed is CD34; the disease is neoplasm.
