Interestingly, patients with intermediate or high infiltration of immune cells (CD45+ cells) had worse survival after brain metastasis (Fig. 1D; Supplementary Fig. S1A), contradicting the literature detailing the positive prognostic role of CD3+, CD8+, and CD45RO+ lymphocytes in lung, breast, melanoma, and renal cell brain metastases, among others (40, 41).
