RET and cancer: Cabozantinib is a small molecule inhibitor of multiple tyrosine kinases, including VEGFR, hepatocyte growth factor receptor (HGFR/c-MET), AXL, and RET, cabozantinib works by inhibiting the activity of these tyrosine kinases, resulting in decreased cancer cell growth and proliferation, reduced angiogenesis, and increased cancer cell death (Yakes et al., 2011).
