MET and renal cell carcinoma: Renal cell carcinomas(RCC) are one of the most common malignanciesworldwide, with growing incidence and up to 17% of patients presentingwith distant metastases at diagnosis.14 It often originates in the proximal tubular epithelium and is characterizedby genetic abnormalities such as VHL or MET mutations and scar tissue formation.15 The asymptomatic nature in the early stages and weak response toradiotherapy and chemotherapy in advanced cases makes the prognosispoor as patients can often require aggressive treatment or transplantation.
