Outside the context of gastric and colorectal cancers, where its high expression correlates with worse prognoses (Cui et al., 2016; Cui et al., 2017; Guo et al., 2013; Haugen et al., 2013; Haugen et al., 2015; Kovalyova et al., 2022; N. Li et al., 2013; Murthy et al., 2005; H. Wang et al., 2020; Xu, Liu, et al., 2023), studies of gastrointestinal legumain activity have not been previously reported. This evidence concerns the gene LGMN and colorectal cancer.
