This discovery led to the development of drugs targeting mTOR (e.g., everolimus and temsirolimus) and EGFR-TKIs targeting EGFR and ALK (e.g., ositinib, gefitinib, ceritinib, and loratinib), which have demonstrated clinical efficacy in the treatment of lung cancer (18) (Table 1).
