A recent meta-analysis by Idrose et al (2021) found some evidence that adults with history of seasonal allergies show higher levels of eosinophils or eosinophil cationic proteins associated with asthma during high pollen seasons, which could lend credence to the eosinophil type of later asthma response (Idrose et al., 2021). The gene discussed is RNASE3; the disease is asthma.
