The CRP-to-albumin ratio (CAR) and its related categorical scores, including the Glasgow Prognostic score (GPS), modified Glasgow prognostic score (mGPS), and high-sensitivity-mGPS (hs-mGPS), all linked to the relationship between the plasma levels of CRP and albumin, respectively, have been assessed to predict mortality in older patients affected by many ARD and infections, i.e. Coronavirus disease 19 (COVID-19) [12–16]. The gene discussed is ALB; the disease is infection.
