GPR35 and inflammatory bowel disease: In addition, our data identify GPR35, and its inhibition of SP-mediated colonic contractility and nociceptor firing, as a putative mechanism of action for the improvement in symptoms reported with CS in people with IBS.17,23,58,59 These findings highlight the utility of GPR35 agonists for the treatment of abdominal pain in IBS, as well as other GI diseases, such as IBD.
