SLC5A2 and type 2 diabetes mellitus: The studies investigated the effects of various SGLT-2 inhibitors, including empagliflozin, canagliflozin, dapagliflozin, and others, on cardiovascular endpoints such as heart failure-related hospitalizations, mortality, cardiac structure and function, and biomarkers. The findings suggest that SGLT-2 inhibitors may have a beneficial impact on reducing the risk of heart failure-related hospitalizations and potentially improving other cardiovascular outcomes in patients with T2DM.
