Approximately 90% of high-grade serous carcinomas are associated with mutations in the BRCA1 (breast cancer 1) and BRCA2 (breast cancer 2) genes (Chen et al., 2003; Santin et al., 2004; Sankaranarayanan and Ferlay, 2006; Salani et al., 2008; Cho and Shih, 2009; Reid et al., 2017; Koshiyama et al., 2017; Reavis and Drapkin, 2020; Çolak et al., 2022).
