MiR-21, a well-known pro-inflammatory microRNA associated with colorectal cancer, inhibits the expression of RAS-GTPase activating protein family member RASA1, resulting in the sustained activation of the RAS signaling pathway and the subsequent initiation and progression of colorectal cancer (Santaolalla et al., 2013; Shi et al., 2016; Kitajima and Barbie, 2018). This evidence concerns the gene RASA1 and colorectal cancer.
