Overexpression of FDX1 in vitro partially reversed the protective effect of dexamethasone (DEX) on rat cerebral infarction, including the DEX-induced significant alleviation of rat cerebral infarction, reduced copper levels, mitochondrial function maintenance, increased GSH levels, and decreased levels of key proteins associated with copper toxicity (21). This evidence concerns the gene FDX1 and cerebral infarction.
