Given that prior literature has conclusively demonstrated and reported FDX1 as a crucial gene in the process of ferroptosis (3), We had prioritized validating the expression of FDX1 through animal experiments in the present study, our research findings indicated an elevated expression level of FDX in the hippocampus of castrated ovariectomized rats with ischemia, which aligns with the previously reported increase of FDX expression in the hippocampus of rats with ischemic injury (21). Here, FDX1 is linked to ischemia.
