After controlling for traditional coronary artery disease risk factors such as gender, age, Body Mass Index (BMI), smoking history, hypertension, diabetes, and Low-Density Lipoprotein Cholesterol (LDL-C), we found that the level of CD147 expression on platelets was significantly positively correlated with the risk of Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS). This evidence concerns the gene BSG and diabetes mellitus.
