Wang L et al. found that the black rice diet rich in dietary fiber and anthocyanins upregulated the abundance of probiotics and increased ILA levels to block colorectal cancer progression.23 Supplementation with dietary fiber such as β-glucan has also been found to significantly increase ILA levels.24 Intervening in the production of indole metabolites through daily dietary combinations might be a good option in the future. The gene discussed is TNFRSF9; the disease is colorectal cancer.
